If I have said it once, I have said it 1000 times – people are always looking for the best bang for their buck, to get the most for their moolah – the golden goose, the great find! And who can blame them? I don’t think there is one of us who would turn up their nose at a great deal. This is where Hisense leads the pack, offering a range of competitive devices at competitive prices.
I got to test the new Hisense Infinity H12, and it didn’t disappoint. I was expecting a decent phone but what I got was a dazzling beauty. This phone’s design is class! The number one comment I got using the device was “Wow what a gorgeous phone! What is it? Where did you get it?”. I have never received these comments with any of the other devices I have used.
With a 6.19-inch X Infinity Display (HD+) the viewing experience was not only vivid but engaging and an all-around delight. Whether you use your phone to watch a series, play games or reading the latest blog articles, you find yourself immersed in the content. Hisense has realised that consumers spend a lot more time on their phones and has placed a great deal of emphasis on maximising screen real estate. The ultra-thin and elegant design makes the phone comfortable and offers a premium experience at a fraction of the expected cost.
Another aspect I enjoyed was the cameras – a Dual rear camera (12MP + 5MP) and 16MP Selfie camera. Hisense has employed a fair amount of AI technology into their cameras, making it not only easy to use, but also adding an array of shooting options. Expecting the usual, I was pleasantly surprised to find night shot, panorama and Slo-Mo shooting settings to name a few. The beauty mode feature on the H12 has improved, and I feel the quality of selfies taken were exceptional.
Other cool camera features are the ability of the device to auto-detect different scenes and adjust the camera settings. So, whether you are trying to capture your moving new-born, your hyperactive pet, or a sunset portrait, the Hisense H12 has your back. The Smile and V Sign prompts to capture a photo are also a nice touch. An interesting addition is the “defog” mode. Admittedly I did not get to try this, but in theory, the camera adjusts to the scene to clear any fog, smog or humidity. So, whether you are a beginner or a pro, the camera has you covered. With their slogan “Do you, Do Life”, the improvements of the Hisense camera technology live up to this.
Operating on Android Oreo, you will find an Octa-Core processor with 4GB RAM running the show. This is supported by a large 3500mAh battery so, you can expect efficient usage, no lag and the ability to keep up with everyday life. The storage comes in at a fair 32GB but, it is expandable to 128GB. Security wise, Hisense have included the full trifecta – the standard PIN, the almost conventional Fingerprint Sensor and now also Facial Recognition. Tried and tested these options work exceptionally effectively.
Unfortunately, the lack of IP water & dustproof ratings and the lack of wireless charging are a bit of a letdown, but for the price, there has to be some sacrifice. And how many times do you go swimming with your phone anyway?
The Hisense Infinity H12 is a sexy looking phone with excellent camera capabilities. It may not win over iPhone X users, but at R5199, it would be a mistake to overlook this beautiful device. Click here to find out more.
